End Of Tenancy Cleaning Checklist (2023 Guide)

End Of Tenancy Cleaning Checklist 2023 – Once your tenancy period comes to an end, you have to move out of the apartment. But before you move out, you are bound to do some home cleaning and repair.

As per most of the tenancy agreements in Singapore, you have to leave the apartment or house in exactly the same condition as you first moved in. Hence, this requires a lot of things to do.

Without a checklist, it is almost impossible to complete this task effectively and perfectly. If your tenancy contract is over and you are moving out of the old house to a new one, then you will need the tenancy cleaning checklist 2020.

Many people like to call a cleaning company for this and some like to do it themselves to save money. In both cases, this checklist is important.

Table of Contents

  • Checklist for tenancy cleaning
  • Vacuuming and mopping
  • Wipe the doors & windows
  • Clean and polish all the mirrors
  • Dusting the aircon units
  • Clean the kitchen
  • Clean the bathroom
  • Clean the lawns
  • End Of Tenancy Cleaning Checklist 2023 – Conclusion

Checklist for tenancy cleaning

Vacuuming and mopping

End Of Tenancy Cleaning Checklist 2020

It is very important to vacuum the floors or the carpets thoroughly before moving out. The floors and carpets should be perfectly clean. If you have carpets on the floor, make sure they are properly vacuumed and have no stains on them.

If you have hardwood flooring, then mopping must be done. This will eliminate all the stains and dust residues from the floor.

Wipe the doors & windows

You have to dust or wipe the doors, door frames, windows, and window frames too. If the doors and windows have glasses, then you have to cleanse them properly with a glass cleaner.

Wipe them thoroughly with a clean microfiber cloth to ensure that it is perfectly clean and dust-free.

Clean and polish all the mirrors

The mirrors are the most neglected parts. We often forget to clean or wipe the mirror. But when it is time for moving out, this is one of the items on your tenancy cleaning checklist. You have to take a glass or mirror cleaner and spray it all over the mirror.

Then take a clean microfiber cloth and wipe it thoroughly until it is completely clean. You have to do this with all mirrors in the house.

Dusting the aircon units

Over time, the aircon units can get dirty with all the airborne dust and dirt. Since Singapore is a hot and humid country, you hardly switch off the AC and clean it.

But before you leave the house as your tenancy period is over, you have to service the aircon units both the indoor and outdoor ones. You need to make sure that the aircon unit is also functioning properly as you got it initially.

Clean the kitchen

With repeated use of the kitchen, grease and debris can be anywhere in the corners of the kitchen. You need to take a cleaner and clean the countertops and cabinets to ensure that there are no residues of grease, dust, and debris.

You also have to wipe all the electronic appliances in the kitchen such as microwaves, ovens, refrigerators, etc.

Clean the bathroom

Well, there is no doubt that you have to clean the bathroom before you leave the house. You have to make sure that the shower area is dry and the glasses are perfectly clean without any water stains on them.

Clean the sink, faucets, and showerheads. Also, clean the cabinets of the bathroom along with the toilet. Mop the bathroom floor and the countertop to leave them perfectly clean and tidy.

Clean the lawns

Lastly, if you have a garden or lawn along with the house, then you have to clean the lawn too. Clear out all the leafy debris and dust from the lawn. You also need to cut the grasses and trim them into a perfect size.

You can also call a professional to take care of this if you are not good at lawn maintenance.

End Of Tenancy Cleaning Checklist 2023 – Conclusion

So, these are the main items that you need to include in the tenancy cleaning checklist. Besides all these, you have to empty the trash bins, clean the garage, and spray some room freshener to make it perfectly clean and fresh for the next tenants or the owner.

If you think that these works are too much for you, then you can surely call for a professional expert in Singapore to take care of all these.

But in that case, also, you need to make sure the professionals are following this checklist to clean the entire house as per your agreement or contract. If you need help with your end-of-tenancy cleaning, you can contact us.
